Trail Mix Bites
These little balls of motivation will definitely get your students exited to learn!
Ingredients:
1 cup. Old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup. Mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup. Chopped peanuts
1/4 cup. Raisins
1/4 cup. Mini M&Ms
3/4 cup. Creamy peanut butter, melted
1 tbsp. Honey
Kosher salt
Directions
- In a large bowl, measure out oats, chocolate chips, peanuts, mini M&Ms, melted peanut butter, and honey with your student. After checking all portions, season with salt.
- Stir together until completely combined, then scoop into tablespoon-size balls and refrigerate until firm, 1 to 2 hours. ( Ask your student “How many minutes in an hour? Two hours?”)
- While waiting - you can work on your student’s number conceptualization. Ask your student to estimate how much of the ingredients are in every cup. For example: ½ cup of mini chocolate chips: Guess how many are in there and ask what ½ of that number is.
- Serve, enjoy, and motivate!
