The framework is complete and usable as written, yet flexible enough for instructors to adapt to meet student needs or scheduling challenges.

PROGRAM
- Students work through 12 nonfiction passages complete with images, vocabulary words, and five days of comprehension questions, writing prompts and activities.
- This package contains an instructor copy and student workbook to enable the instructor and student to sit across from one another, allowing the student to focus on their own copy and have dedicated table to see their growth with each reading and complete the writing prompts, vocabulary matching tests and fact or opinion tests.
PROCEDURE
- Each session, the student will read the entire passage while being timed. Each passage will be read five times.
- The time, words per minute read, and errors are recorded each day at the bottom of the student workbook.
- Each day, students will work on mastering the 10 vocabulary words provided with each story.
- Comprehension Development Questions and activities are asked to guide discussion around the story and develop students' ability to recall, make text to text and text to self connections.
